“Yoga is the journey of the self, to the self, through the self” – Bhagavad Gita
Sian is a fully insured 200hr RYT Yoga Teacher in Vinyasa Krama & Ashtanga yoga. With a passion for teaching movement, mobility, mindfulness & pranayama to people of all ages and abilities. Aiming to provide a safe space for people to begin or continue on their own yoga journey – whatever that may look like, through the exploration of body, mind & breath.
My journey into yoga, like many things in life, has not been a linear one. I started as a teen, lost my practise in my early twenties and rekindled it again fully during my time as a primary school teacher. Ashtanga got me hooked back in to yoga and it was what i needed at that time. A regimented, strong and fast paced practise that made my body feel worked and my mind still.
Seeing the difference a daily yoga and mindfulness practise had on my overall health, after years of poorly managed anxiety and bouts of depression. I felt utterly compelled to be able to learn as much as possible, to live a more balanced and happy life. To make a difference to mental wellbeing in our communities in a purely holistic way – that wasn’t driven by numbers or targets. This led to me to completing a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in India in January 2019 and I have since completed qualifications in mindfulness and pilates.
My yoga practise has evolved with me over the years. I love all styles of yoga and each has a place depending on where I am, how I feel and what I need in that moment. The vastness and depth of the practise motivates me everyday and I feel very grateful for the role it has played and continues to play in my life.
